Lip Aesthetics

In some people, the lip structure may be thin, or a decrease in lip thickness may occur with the decrease in the amount of fat tissue in the lip with aging. For the purpose of lip thickening, there are many interventions that can be made depending on the problem and age of the person.

Thickening          of the lip using permanent materials taken from the body

Thickening          of the lip using fillers

Surgical          procedures that advance the lip mucosa (red part)

Autogenous (taken from the person himself) fillers or foreign materials can be used as fillers. Dermis grafts, fascia grafts and fat grafts from autogenous materials can be applied for lip thickening. Since the fat grafts dissolve to a large extent after a certain period of time, their permanence is limited. Dermis and fascia grafts are tissues with less melting and longer permanence. By placing these tissues inside the lip, the lip volume is increased, thus lip thickening is achieved.

These procedures are applications that can be easily performed under local anesthesia. Swelling usually disappears within 7-10 days.

It is a non-surgical method to thicken the lip with hyaluronic, a substance that is used to thicken the lip, injected under the skin and under the mucous membrane, and is present in the body. One of the longer-acting fillers developed in recent years and applied in our clinic is the injection form of calcium hydroxyapetite. This substance continues to persist for a period of up to 7 years.

Lip Thinning

It is the process of reducing excessively thick lips. An elliptical piece from the mucous membrane of the thick lip (red part) is removed together with the fat tissues underneath and sutured with a suitable technique. This procedure is done with local anesthesia. Swelling and bruises disappear in a few days. Since the scars of the sutures made on the mucosa are not visible, there is no scar problem after the operation.
